NOTHING THAT OBSERVES ME IS REAL – INFORMATIONS

NOTHING THAT OBSERVES ME IS REAL.

The work features eye paintings in a set of wood frames engraved and cut using CNC laser machines. The number on the surface of the frame is a message encoded in binary numbers, the content of the message is a current question about the contemporary world and is written in English, in this work the binary message has the following reflection:

“NOTHING THAT OBSERVES ME IS REAL.”

01001110 01001111 01010100 01001000 01001001 01001110 01000111 00100000 01010100 01001000 01000001 01010100 00100000 01001111 01000010 01010011 01000101 01010010 01010110 01000101 01010011 00100000 01001101 01000101 00100000 01001001 01010011 00100000 01010010 01000101 01000001 01001100 00101110

In the contemporary world we are observed by algorithms, our world is shaped by binary sequences and we are part of a world where our ideologies and thoughts are based only on the appearances of things, and not on what is real.

The work has a duality, the machine builds the frame idealized by the artist and serves as a framework for paintings made by hand.

This duality between the industrial and artisanal environment makes the human being a product, we are monitored and encouraged to think the same as everyone.
